Dejana Kabiljo, Austria

A very successful career for designer/artist Dejana Kabilijo began with a degree in Architecture from the University of Belgrade, and a Masters Degree in design from the Domus Academy in Milan. Moving on to Vienna, she held the position of art director of the Vienna Museum of Technology from 1995 to 1997.

Dejana Kabiljo was lecturer at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna from 1997 to 1999. Speaker and guest lecturer: workshops at the Konsfack, Stockholm, MAK, Vienna, Belgrade Design Week, New Rules and New Responses, conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia and SOS Design Festival, Fine Arts Academy, Sarajevo from 2005 to 2012.

In 1997 Dejana created her own professional practice for Design and Architecture in Vienna and her own production label, Kabiljo Inc. in 2001. Designing and producing objects "for all of us with little fetishes, bad habits and compulsive actions." Kabiljo Inc. products search for innovation at the level of human behaviour, "simple things created for our complex times, irony-free and celebratory".
