PULLED, a catalog of screen printing by Mike Perry takes a look at how the technique still has relevance in the world of graphic design.
From the New York Times book review by Steven Heller "The book itself is among the best of the eye-candy genre (and I don’t mean that with a hint of disparagement). Perry has become the master of all things manual, having written previous books on hand lettering and graphic patterns. He documents the current practitioners, bringing to light a range of craft and aesthetics at once playful and serious."
Although digitally printing a book that is about hand printing could have been problematic, the images manage to maintain their integrity and unique quality through the way they were photographed. The vast visual content of the book is great both for those knowledgeable about the field as well as for those curious about design. The images are truly a joy to behold.
