Samare
Samare is a collective comprised of four architects and designers that revisit national cultural emblems and translate them into contemporary objects. With the striking juxtaposition of both contemporary and hand-crafted materials, Samare maintains its ideals of presenting functional and aesthetically considered objects and is inspired by their cultural heritage. In using their skills and understanding of traditional materials, Samares’ collection is constantly evolving to include new items rigorously handmade in Canada.
Published internationally and showcased in many prestigious galleries, Samares’ objects have become a must for both collectors and design connoisseurs. The Mountie Stool has recently been acquired by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for their permanent decorative collection.
Samare is Laurie and Mania Bedikan, Nicolasz Bellavance-Lecompte and Patrick Meirim de Barros.
